Re: A question concerning RAID 5
Check Disk is Windows Error-checking tool used to look for file system errors and bad sectors on your hard drive and repair them automatically (if you check the Auto Repair option.
If you have perormed the below, then there is a chance of scanning corrupts data on all disks in a configuration:
Check disk options, select the Automatically fix file system errors check box and the
Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors check box and click the Start button.
It is advisable to take a backup right now to avoid further damage!!!!
This is for your reference.

Re: A question concerning RAID 5
Well F2 started scandisk and it scanned the diks but it was a no go.The server was reinstalled and when i started insight diagnostic it reported that two disks have failed.I'll post the log but the question is did the corruption happened before scandisk was initiated or was it because of it.
Thanx

Re: A question concerning RAID 5
* This message appears once immediately following drive replacement before data is restored from backup
* A loose or defective cable may also cause this error.
* Check SCSI cables.
If the message indicates to check SCSI cables, please verify the cabling against the diagrams in the User Guide. If the routing is correct, replace cables on the specified port until the POST message is eliminated.
Hope this works!!!!

Re: A question concerning RAID 5
When you rebuilt the server, did you run system erase on it before re-creating the array? It will prompt you to erase all drives in system, you should selct this option and continue.
Can you post an ADU report to the forum?
This allow anyone to view the report to see if the drives are ok or have some hard errors on them and may need to be replaced.
...ken.
