ACPI Support on HP ProLiant DL380 Generation 5 (G5)
Server Information
Server : HP ProLiant DL380 Generation 5 (G5)
OS : RedHat Enterprise Linux 5
Kernel : 2.6.18-8.el5
Requirements
1. Support for S3 sleep state
If we see the content of /sys/power/state on this server, then it shows only тАЬdiskтАЭ option implying the support of S4 sleep state. The other possible value is тАЬmemтАЭ for S3 sleep state. If we execute тАЬecho -n mem > /sys/power/stateтАЭ to suspend to memory then we get an error тАЬwrite error: No such deviceтАЭ.
2. Support for CPU power management
The content of /proc/acpi/processor/CPU0/info on this server has the following content
processor id: 0
acpi id: 0
bus mastering control: no
power management: no
throttling control: no
limit interface: no
Quick response shall be highly helpful.
Thanks and Regards,

Re: ACPI Support on HP ProLiant DL380 Generation 5 (G5)
Thanks for the reply. If you could tell me how to see the current iLO settings of HP Power Regulator and also how to change the settings.
Is there any command line tool to do the same since the server is on WAN and GUI wont be of much help.
regards,

The value of HP Power Regulator is set to "OS control" in BIOS.
