I have an HP DL360 G4 with a 6i controller running Ubuntu.
I have set up Win2008 on this machine and the ACU worked perfectly but now that I am trying to set it up with Ubuntu I am having some difficulty.
The result is the same whether I use the HTTP interface or the cli
Any idea what the cause may be?

Re: ACU did not detect any supported controllers in your system
Maybe if you looked in the scripts that hpacucli is using you could find a clue.
You could also try other versions of ACU.

Re: ACU did not detect any supported controllers in your system
Hmm... I suspect that you are right about Ubuntu not being supported. Ubuntu's website lists several HP servers as certified: http://www.ubuntu.com/certification/make/HP/servers
Unfortunately mine is not on that list. :(
Thanks anyway, I guess. I hope to see support from Ubuntu in the future.

The HP Array Configuration Utility Software Overview & Features page directs visitors to "see the Readme Files located within the product downloads" but the latest version of hpacucli (ver 8.75 - release 12.0) available in the SDR for RHEL 5.6 does not include a README file:
[root@h1 hpsmh]# rpm -q hpacucli
hpacucli-8.75-12.0
[root@h1 hpsmh]# rpm -ql hpacucli
/opt/compaq/hpacucli
/opt/compaq/hpacucli/bld
/opt/compaq/hpacucli/bld/.hpacucli
/opt/compaq/hpacucli/bld/.hpacuscripting
/opt/compaq/hpacucli/bld/hpacucli
/opt/compaq/hpacucli/bld/hpacucli-8.75-12.0.noarch.txt
/opt/compaq/hpacucli/bld/hpacucli.license
/opt/compaq/hpacucli/bld/hpacuscripting
/opt/compaq/hpacucli/bld/libcpqimgr.so
/opt/compaq/hpacucli/bld/mklocks.sh
/usr/man/man8/hpacucli.8.gz
/usr/sbin/hpacucli
/usr/sbin/hpacuscripting
However, the.txt file that accompanies the .rpm package file in the SDR (i.e., hpacucli-8.75-12.0.noarch.txt) declares:
Supported Operating Systems Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4, 5, 6 (32-bit) Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 (x86_64) with the "Compatibility Package" installed to include the 32-bit libraries. SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 10, 11 Debian Sarge 32 bit Debian Sarge 64 bit Debian Etch (i386) Debian Etch (amd64)
Installation:
ACU CLI is distributed using Red Hat Package Manager (RPM) packages and .deb packages for debian.
...
NOTE: On Debain systems, a ".deb" package file can be installed using the "dpkg -i hpacucli.xxx.deb" command. The dpkg -r hpacucli command is used to remove the package. The software resides in /opt/compaq/hpacucli and the executable name is hpacucli which is located in /usr/sbin.
That being said, however, Debian (and/or Debian-based systems) are not listed in the Download Drivers and Software Page for the HP Array Configuration Utility:

Re: ACU did not detect any supported controllers in your system
HP does provide drivers, via the SDR, for Ubuntu. Follow link on this page to find them: http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/servers/software/ubuntu/index.htmlI think my problem is simply that my Ubuntu is to new and my server is to old. Thank you for your input though. Just adding this link in case anyone else (or myself at a later date) ever stumble on this thread.
I guess I am going to try a Redhat based distro (probably Cent) as someone suggested. I don't actually need the ACU. I can run it right now from my Windows partition. But I purchased this server as a learning tool and I guess I may as well learn the predominant server OS.

I've downloaded the latest version of hpacucli (ver 8.75 - release 12.0) from the SDR for RHEL 5.6 and installed ACU on CentOS 5.6. I haven't used it yet except to verify that it works and that it interfaces with the P400i RAID controller of the DL365 G1.
HTH,
