ACU v7.0.1.0 doesn't detect any Array Controllers (ProLiant 5500 XEON P3)
It is running Windows 2000 Server (with all the latest patches).
Previously, I have been using ACU from my SmartStart CD. I have just downloaded and installed the Web-based version of ACU from:
http://h18004.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/18819.html
Unfortunately, it doesn't find any controllers. I have two SA3200 and one SA4200 installed. The Controllers are flashed to v4.50.
I have rebooted the machine, but still no joy.
The above URL states that both of the controllers are supported, as well as the ProLiant 5500 they are installed in.
The URL makes no comments about any specific operating system requirments, or if any supporting software is necessary.
Can anyone suggest what I should try to get this working?
Regards, Wesley.

Re: ACU v7.0.1.0 doesn't detect any Array Controllers (ProLiant 5500 XEON P3)
Unfortunately, the link you suggested omits the ProLiant 5500 from the list of controllers supported by ACU version 7.15.19.0.
Undeterred, I installed it anyway. Unfortunately, ACU version 7.15.19.0 didn't detect any Array Controllers either.
I'm open to more suggestions.
Regards, Wesley.

Re: ACU v7.0.1.0 doesn't detect any Array Controllers (ProLiant 5500 XEON P3)
Insert your SmartStart CD and re-run the System Configuration Utility. Re-save (F10) the configuration. If you installed new hardware or change the position of any existing hardware you need to re-save the config.
Make sure you have the latest drivers installed for those controllers...
SA3200 Controller:
http://h18004.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/17322.html
SA4200 Controller:
http://h18004.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/17750.html
Yes, two diferent drivers...
Another thing to check... does the SA3200 and 4200 controllers show up at POST?

Re: ACU v7.0.1.0 doesn't detect any Array Controllers (ProLiant 5500 XEON P3)
The 3 controllers in my ProLiant 5500 have been installed 'as is' for many weeks now, and are currently operating correctly. Each has 1 array configured.
As I said in my original post, they are flashed to v4.50, which was the latest when I acquired the boards (Quite some months ago now).
However, I will download the software you have suggested, and ENSURE that they are using the latest versions.
-----
I am also following up the "ProLiant Support Pack" (PSP for Windows 2000). All supported Operating systems can be found at:
http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/family/model/1108.html?lang=en&cc=au&y=7&x=5&Submit.y=6&Submit.x=5
I followed the Windows 2000 link, and this is currently downloading.
As I also said, I have NOT installed "supporting software", so this might be my problem.
-----
As I have said previously, it is FABULOUS to be a Compaq/HP owner, because the Support is INCREDIBLE. This is from both Humans AND via the Internet.
On one problem, an employee of HP Canada rang me up to make sure I had understood his proposed solution, AND that it actually fixed my issue (Which it did).
You DON'T get THIS level of support from a CLONE manufacturer. Thanks Compaq/HP!
Regards, Wesley.

G'luck and let us know if you need anything else.
Glad you are having a good experience with HP! Most of us on the ITRC do not work for HP but we think HP has something worth volunteering for.
