ADDING A NETWORK CARD
I NEED TO ADD A SECOND NETWORK CARD AND I INSTALLED IT IN THE 5TH PIC SLOT. THEN I RAN THE SMART START, RELEASE 4.90, AND RAN THE UTILITIES. THEN I INSTALLED THE WINDOWS TN SERVER AND WHEN IT ASKED ME FOR THE NETWORK ADAPTERS IT ONLY FOUND THE NET FLEX AND NOT THE 3COM905 FAST ETHER LINK AL PIC. WHAT'S IT THAT I AM DOING WRONG? ANY SUGGESTIONS WILL BE APPRECIATED. THANKS.

Re: ADDING A NETWORK CARD
Try to run F10 setup (System Configuration Utiltiy) and verify that CMOS sees the 3C905. As NT is not PNP, follow this by trying to add an adatper through Network. Because you already have the imbedded NIC on the Secondary PCI Bus, I think slot 4,5 or 6 are good choices for the second NIC.

Re: ADDING A NETWORK CARD
Have you had any luck resolving this problem yet? We are getting ready to install a second network card into our proliant and I'm just wondering what to expect.

Re: ADDING A NETWORK CARD
NT4 Operating System may pre-date this 3COM Network Card -- In this situation select "Have Disk" and insert 3COM Configuration or Driver Disk that is supplied with a new Network Card
