I am getting an error that (A tape drive has been detected, and the tape driver started. however, the tape device is not responding. Check that tape device power is on and cables are properly connected). The cable is connected to SCSI port BB' and terminated. The device ID is set to 6 and is recognized upon boot up.

Re: AIT INTERNAL TAPE DRIVE
Where is the terminator ? is it on the drive or scsi cable ? The tape drive should not have a terminator on it , the drive should be terminated by the SCSI cable .
Check for proper termination and run diags to verify tape drive is functioning properly .
