APC Smart UPS on ML350 G6 not communicating on serial port
We have an new APC Smart UPS SMT1500i (the one with the LCD screen) on ML350 G6 not communicating on serial port. We are using all new hardware and have been trouble shooting issue with APC for about a month. We have tried 2 new UPS's and still no luck.
If we follow APC's brain dead procedure to reset the UPS it will connect via serial and run fine for 5 and a half hours.
We have the same problem on 4 different servers all are ML350 G6 and all have APC smart UPS 1500
Using port scanning tools we can see the serial port is still in use with APC software. My only thought is if the connection blips for a second this might cause the issue.
Has anyone had any simialr issues or know what else we can try.
