ASR backup without floppy drive

Is there a way to make a virtual floppy containing the ASR information? In windows Backup on windows Server 2003 I can not make this backup since the DL360 has no floppy drive. I read something about a virtual floppy in Ilo? How does that work? Will it save al necessay info in case of a disaster?
Will I be able to recover the complete system without a floppy drive?
Thanks

Re: ASR backup without floppy drive

If you have iLO advanced pack you will be able to use:

Remote console to completely manage the server ( OS independent )

Virtual Media ( Floppy or CD/DVD-ROM ) meaning you can use your laptops CD-ROM as an extension of the remote server for example.

Refer to iLO user guide.

Will it save al necessay info in case of a disaster?

Remote console and Virtual media must be open in order to use the local floppy drive as the server's floppy drive.

Will I be able to recover the complete system without a floppy drive?

You can boot teh remote server from a floppy on your local machine if thatis what you need..

Re: ASR backup without floppy drive

OK thx.
There is one problem, the virtual floppy is not recognized as a floppy drive by backup.
So it is impossible to make a ASR floppy without a floppy drive.
Let me know your thoughts. Thanks
