ATA 100 PCI controller card
I like others in this forum wanted to use some large IDE HD's but they were recognized as 8.3gb instead of the actual 20gb. Following advice posted in the forum I went out and bought a Maxtor ATA 100 PCI controller card. But I am unable to get the system to boot from this controller. I removed the SCSI controller, disabled the primary onboard controller and only have the CDROM drive plugged into the secondary onboard channel. The system configuration recognizes the card as being a PCI mass storage controller, but will not boot from it. After smart start failed I tried booting straight to the NT 4.0 disk and manually loading the driver for the Maxtor board, but even NT said that no drives were installed. At startup the new controller briefly displays a banner and shows the two drives that are plugged into it.
I resorted to putting a 4.3gb SCSI drive in the system to boot from, what can I do?
