ATI Rage IIc Driver Problems

Why is it that following a SmartStart install, the ATI Rage IIc driver is never installed correctly. I have noticed this on several machines (eg ML370), and it is normally fixed by re-running the SSD setup, installing the driver, reapplying SP5 and rebooting. Not this time however !!!. It keep reporting that the driver is configured incorrectly or is missing and if you accept it anyway the machine goes west !!!!

I see there is a new driver as of Nov20th - I have this problem (primarily on a PL3000) - and i'm installing 2 8500s this weekend so am interested in what will happen ....! have you tried that one??

the problem was fixed in later revisions of the driver

Tthe ati rage driver is only compatible w sp3 or above and is not compatible w pcanyware.
