About hot-plug HDDs

Hey everyone,

I have a few questions about hot-plug hdd on a ProLiant ML150 G2 we have at the office.

I have a spare 250GB hdd that I'd like to add, but can't afford to shut down the server. Do I simple slide the thing and then activate it through the disk management console? Is it that simple or do I have to do something else before?

Do you have a smartarray controller in the box? If you do just plug it in and use array config to set it up.

The server has a PCI-X RAID card, pictured here:

I don't know if that is what you're referring to.

hi

yes just slide the new HDD in and use this utility to get HDD working

or check if the Disk management recognizes the HDD too
