Activate DMA for OSB4 Ide controller (ML370 G2)

Hi,

Setup : ML370 G2 with Windows Server 2003

I've hooked up 2 LG DVD drives to the IDE controller of my ML370 G2, both in cable select mode (I removed the original CD drive). No other IDE devices. The IDE controller is recognized by Windows as a "OSB4 IDE Controller " by ServerWorks.

I'm not able to activate DMA for these devices, so DVD burning is really cpu-intensive because I'm stuck in PIO mode. I've selected "DMA if available" for both devices in Windows Device Manager but its still defaulting to plain old PIO.

I've updated the ML370's firmware to latest, with no changes.

So, does anyone knows how to activate DMA for the OSB4 IDE controller on a ML370 G2 ?

Thanks for your help !

Hi Alexandre,

You can check drivers list from following link.

Re: Activate DMA for OSB4 Ide controller (ML370 G2)

Hi again,

I forgot to mention it in the original post, but I've already checked the Proliant Support Packs, and they don't contain a driver for this particular IDE Controller (OSB4 from Broadcom/ServerWorks) : there's only one plain IDE driver (CMD 0649), which I tried anyway, but it did not install because I don't have that hardware in the server.

Thanks anyway for the answer Sung Oh!

Any other ideas, anyone ?

Many thanks,

Alex.
