Activating 2nd drive cage on ML530
I have a Proliant ML530 with a single Smart Array 532 controller card. We have a 4 drive array in cage B. I've added 3 drives in cage A, in order to create a second array. However, the HP array utility does not recognize the new drives. Do I need a second controler card for Cage A, or can I bridge the to cages and run them from the same controller card. I called HP Support, but the person I spoke to knew less about this than I did. In the end he said it was possible, but I needed a cable to connect the two drive cages. He gave me a spare part number of 123188-001, which turns out to be some kind of server mounting rail kit. So my questiong is, can I bridge(for lack of a better word) the two drive cages, and if so does anyone have a part number, or do I need to get an 2nd controller card.
TIA

Re: Activating 2nd drive cage on ML530
They cannot be daisy chained, you need a 2nd controller...
