Add Hot and ready spare
Hello everyone,
I am currently working on HP proliant ml350n which i believe to be a G5. This machine is running raid 5 on a smart array e200i raid controller and currently has 3 drives in it. I ordered two new hard drives and would like to add them in as hot swappable spares. Can anyone help me out with how to go about this as I have not read anything in the online documentation about this. It shows how to add a drive to expand the virtual drive size but not to add a hot and ready spare. Any help is greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

Re: Add Hot and ready spare
Hello metallica,
Your controller card E200i is almost the same as my E200 so maybe I can help out. You really need to read this section because this will help you on how to do it:
For Hot-Swap... only possible with Backplan Board Panel (hardware) and disks that are for your model ML350n G5 that are SATA/SAS Hot-Swap. Without them... no hot swap will be possible.
Hope this helps out.
