Add Processor during W2k Upgrade
I have a Compaq DL380 server that I want to install an additional processor in. With NT4 this is a bit fiddly, but if I physically install the processor and then perform a W2K upgrade will it be automatically detected during the upgrade?

Gerry

Re: Add Processor during W2k Upgrade
thats a very good question....the response that i would give to that is what i KNOW works would be to upgrade to win2k..THEN once upgraded open your device manager and under 'computer" right click the acpi uniporcessor PC and change the driver to ACPI multiporcessor PC..then shut down and add the second proc...
wether the upgrade will properly pick up the new proc is in my experience unkown...you may have to do the above procedure anyway so might as well do it and make sure it is done right and works :)
