Re: Add hdd for server Hp DL380-G5 Xeon5410
Hi, do you want to use them in the existing RAID5?
It takes quite some time to expand a RAID5 with three hard drives. Fastest would probably be to get a backup of the data, delete the array, create a new one with all hard drives and then restore from backup.
Physically it should just be to install the new hard drives in the free slots in the server.
Then to use them in your OS you can create an array, a logical drive and then some partitioning.
All except partitioning can be done in Array Configuration Utility. If you have Proliant Support Pack installed you can find it in the start menu.

Update the server's firmware using the latest firmware maintenance cd. Then update the drivers using the latest smart start cd.
Then connect the HDDs and then expand the RAID array and then extend the volume both using the array configuration utility. this should solve your problem.
YOU SHOULD HAVE A COMPLETE DATA / SYSTEM STATE BACKUP BEFORE PROCEEDING.
