Hi everybody,
I just bought 2 disks so i can add it to the RAID 5 in the HP Server ML370 G4.
Actually my RAID 5 has 3 disks.
My question is ┬┐How can i accomplish this task?
I have no idea how to do it.
I would appreciate that somebody help me!
Thanks

Re: Add two disks to RAID 5 HP Proliant ML370 G4
Hi, the ACU should hopefully already be installed on your server.
See: http://docs.hp.com/en/9320/acu.pdf for a user guide.
Expanding the array should be possible to accomplish in there, it might however take quite some time. I am not entirely certain how to expand a partition but maybe somebody else here can help you with that.

Re: Add two disks to RAID 5 HP Proliant ML370 G4
Adding disks to existing arrays is called "array expansion", or "capacity expansion". It is a 3-step process.
First you add the new drives using the array expansion feature.
Then you have to either expand existing logical drive(s) LUNs or create new ones.
Third, if you expand existing logical drives, you have to check if your OS supports dynamic partition expansion. In windows you use the diskpart.exe utility. If you create new logical drives, you use them in your OS as new disks.
The above should be the same whether you have the SCSI or SAS/SATA Sa=mart array controller option.
