Adding BDC ro Domain
Hello fellow techies,
I have a DL380 Using NT4, Smartstart 5.2 that will be a BDC, however I am unable to get the server to be Joined to the Domain, I install the Intel 82557 On Board NIC, and I can start the network, but I am then prompted for the Domain, Domain Admins Username, and Password, to get the Domain Controller in the domain, after entering the correct details I get the following error message:- "The Domain Controller for This Domain Cannot Be Located" I have installed other NICs, tested the Network Cables, Restarted the whole process with Smart Start 4.7 and 4.9, still no joy.
I am unable to check the NetBios or edit the lmhost file as the OS is not up.
Please inform me if you have any information to aid resolution of this istuation.
Thankyou
Michael Hodges

Re: Adding BDC ro Domain
Hello All,
I have resolved the issue.
Created the computers Account within the Domain first, Synchronise the Domain.
Auto detect the NIC, should find "Intel 10/1000 Fast Ethernet PIC Card" Only select this card. Leave everything else as default except to move the Card to the top of the Binding Order, and Start the Network. All should be well with the cosy world of Compaq and TN!
Cheers.
