Adding Disk drives to Storage works Array on ML350

Added new disk drives to Storage works array and started HP Array Configuration Utility.
The new disks do not appear as available or anywhere else. How do I add them ?

What controller do you have? Does it have a battery backup cache? Without a cache and battery, you can't add drives on some controllers.

Maximum logical array is 2 TB.

Have you upgraded the firmware and option ROM on the controller and drives?

Usually you click on the array and add drives. Do you see the drives as available or unused?

Haven't reached the 2tb limit yet.
The firmware etc haven't been upgraded in a few years.

Thats the problem the new disks do not show up as available or unused. If they show up that would be easier.

I would do the firmware on the controller and drives so all the drive match. Then reboot the server and see if that resolves the issue.

Do a full backup first before upgrading.

I have seen issues with drives with different firmware on them.
