Adding Extra SCSI Drives

I have an older HP Proliant ML370/Xeon server running Novell Netware 6.5. I want to add three new SCSI drives. I can't get the server to recognize or initialize the three new drives. How do I do this? Thank you!

Re: Adding Extra SCSI Drives

hello,
1) create new array on Smart Array controller - use ACU, SmartStart
2) add new luns under your OS (no idea how it works in Novell.)

Re: Adding Extra SCSI Drives

I'm currently expanding space on this existing array - does anyone know approximately how long this operation takes? I've read that it can literally take days!

Depending on raid configuration, disk size, server load this can take a long time. I don't think anyone can make an educated guess without some more info.

Do you know if this array-expansion process will delete data on the original array? I noticed that I can't ping the server while it's been working...

Your data should be save.
