Adding Gigabit NIC to Proliant 1200
Hello all,
I want to add an Intel PRO/1000 T Server Adapter to a Proliant 1200 Server here at office. I was told I would need to boot to a Compaq maintenance partition from floppy disks to install the card. Apparently when this system was rebuilt on 2000 they didn't install the maintenance partition.
Is it true that I do have to boot to this partition to install the card? And if so where can I get this Maintenance software?
Have a great day!!!
Best Regards,
Scott

Re: Adding Gigabit NIC to Proliant 1200
This server is not "plug and play". There isn't a standard bios present like on most desktops which allow resources to be automatically assigned to new devices.
I would recommend running the system configuration utility off of floppies, available at:
http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/13227.html
These allow resources be assigned to new hardware.

The truth is out there, but I forgot the URL..

Thank you Terry!! That is exactly the answer I was looking for.
