Re: Adding Hdd to DL380G5

Hi Shamima,

DL580 G5 has the capacity of Eight SFF SAS hot plug hard drive. As the HDD are hot plugged, you just insert the new HDD on the empty bay after shutdown the server. You can check the user guide of DL 580 G%.

Hi Shamima,

At first down yoyr server , then plug in harddisk into harddisk bay one by one. Then power on the server. After that check by
#fdsik -l from OS (linux)

Re: Adding Hdd to DL380G5

The drives are hot pluggable. You should be able to add them to the server while the OS is running.. rescan your hardware, use the array configuration utility to create and array and logical disk, rescan again and then initialize, format, "dostuff" with the new space.
