DL580 G5 has the capacity of Eight SFF SAS hot plug hard drive. As the HDD are hot plugged, you just insert the new HDD on the empty bay after shutdown the server. You can check the user guide of DL 580 G%.

At first down yoyr server , then plug in harddisk into harddisk bay one by one. Then power on the server. After that check by
#fdsik -l from OS (linux)
