Adding Hot Pluggable Hard Drives

I am having problems adding hard disk space to my Proliant 2500 Server.

My server has two hotpluggable 9.1 gig SCSI drives in it now (these are not in an array). I have purchased two new Quantum Atlas 10K II 18.4 Gig hard drives and two bays to add to my system. I can add only one drive successfully, once I add the second drive (does not matter which one) I get like a screen full of SCSI ID's from the SCSI Bios and the machine gives me the Blue Screen of Death. Any ideas as to what I am doing wrong???

Re: Adding Hot Pluggable Hard Drives

Are the "bays" 3rd-party hot-plug trays? Are you allowing the backplane to assign SCSI ID's (i.e. all drives set for ID "0" and the tray's ID cable attached to them)?

The bays are from compaq. I am allowing the backplane to assign the SCSI ID's
