Adding RAM to DL380 G7

My client has a DL380 G7 single CPU server with six 2Gb RAM modules (three banks of two each.)  The current 12Gb of RAM is not sufficient and I need to upgrade to 32Gb.  Can anyone tell me the best configuration to get to 32Gb?  I'm assuming we'll have to get rid of the existing 2Gb modules, but I'm not sure how to spec out the replacement modules.

I also have a DL320 G6 single CPU server with two 2Gb modules.  I'm upgrading this server from Windows 2003 32bit to Windows 2012 64bit and need more RAM.  I'm thinking 24-32Gb of RAM would be sufficient as this is only a file server.  Any recommendations on this one as well?

Thanks!

Joe

Re: Adding RAM to DL380 G7

Hi,

DL380 G7 supports the following types of DIMM's, RDIMM, UDIMM and LVDIMM.

Refer to DDR3 Memory Configuration Tool.

Refer to HP ProLiant DL380 G7 Server - Configuring Memory.

Refer to HP ProLiant G6 Series Servers - DDR3 Memory Specifications and Configuration Rules.

Thank You!

I replied via e-mail but obviously that didn't work.  Thanks much for your help on this.  The links really helped.
