Adding RAM to DL380 Gen 10
Hi all,
I have HPE DL 380 Gen 10 with 1xCPU and 16+32+32 RAM(they are on 8, 10, 12 slots).
2 days ago I added another one CPU, but this CPU do not works .
My 2 questions:
1. Now I want to add a new RAM. I want to buy only 1x32 GB RAM . Is it possible to do that? And how must I place all RAMs on board?
2. Can I use this config: 1st CPU= 16 Gb RAM, 2nd CPU= 32+32Gb RAM (without adding 32gb as in 1st question)?
Thanks!

Re: Adding RAM to DL380 Gen 10
Hello,
the best way is to use this Site:
https://memoryconfigurator.hpe.com/
Enter your configuration and the Sizer tell you which Memory you need and how to place it.
Unfortunately, the memory configurator has been discontinued.
Some features can now be found in the Power Advisor.

Re: Adding RAM to DL380 Gen 10
You can get the Part# from the iLO > Hardware > Memory Tab.
It's hidden, click on the DDR Module to see it.

Re: Adding RAM to DL380 Gen 10
Put your smash in before your CPU cooler in the event that it may involve or require low profile memory as it will make double establishment much harder.

Re: Adding RAM to DL380 Gen 10
Please refer HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10 Server - Configuring Memory to understand General memory population rules and guidelines and how to place all RAMs on board.
https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docLocale=en_US&docId=emr_na-a00027959en_us
General memory population rules and guidelines:
Install DIMMs only if the corresponding processor is installed.
If only one processor is installed in a two-processor system, only half of the DIMM slots are available.
To maximize performance, it is recommended to balance the total memory capacity between all installed processors.
When two processors are installed, balance the DIMMs across the two processors.

Re: Adding RAM to DL380 Gen 10
AFAIK, the memory configurator tool is not available anymore. I guess this link gives some insights to you:
