Hello, I just added a new drive and expanded the raid 5 array to use the new drive. All I'm getting are blinking LED's on the drives. The processor utilization is 0%. I was just wondering if this is normal and how long it normally takes for this type of expansion. It's been going for about 3.5 hours now.
My server is running Netware 5.1 and it is using the Smart Array 431 Controller. I used cpqonlin.nlm to expand the array.

Solution
The array expansion uses the SmartArray controlers processor to do the work.
You can expect to see the process take as much as 15 minutes per gig.
