Adding drives to ML350

I have a ML350 with 4 72Gb physical drives on one controller. I want to add another drive to the controller as well as the array and logical drive. My intent is to expand the C: drive to give me more space on it. Can some one direct me to a document that details how I can do this? I had one but it walked with a former employee.

I have plugged the drive into the server but now need the steps to have the server recognize the drive is there. Then I can add it to the Array and the logical drive.

1 Which Array controller card is installed.
2 What is the Raid that is setup.
3 Is it ML350 G1 server.
4 What is the OS installed.

Hi Kevin,

1. Use the Latest version of the Array Configuration Utility(ACU).
2. Install the New Harddisk.
3. Open the ACU and check if the New Hdd is detected and unallocated/free.
4. Highlight the Array and click on Expand Array. Select the Hdd and it will rebuild the array.
5. Once the array is rebuilt. Highlight the Logical Drive and click on Extend the Logical Drive.
6. Once the logical drive is extended, check in disk management there will be free space available for that disk.
7. Then extend the logical drive in windows.

Bingo, The drive was not seated properly in the cage. I have all the other steps documented and thought I was missing some steps. the only thing I was missing was ensuring I seated the drive securely.

Great - advice. Quick query, are you able to install the additional drives while the server is online or is it best to turn off then install ?
