Adding new HDD

Hi, I'm not familiar with HP servers, so I thought I'd ask before actually doing it.

Is any special configuration needed if I wish to add a 500 GB SATA Seagate HDD for a HP DL320 G5p server? I'm using ZFS at the moment, so the hardware RAID controller isn't really is use.

hi,

i think you need to make this disk minimum in RAID configuration RAID0 ( if i don't have right them just insert the disk to the HDD bay), and them the OS should be see it as a disk, and you will be able to add it to the ZFS configuration.
