Adding second P133 cpu to dual Processor board
Adding second P133 cpu to dual Processor board
I just got a Proliant 1500 dual processor 133Mhz server today. I don't know where to find the serial number though, so put 0000000000
This is the first server I have ever owned. I am quite good with PC's though. I plan to use Linux software and use the server to setup a small lan for learning. It didn't come with a manual or any help unfortunatly.
My server has the dual processor board with only 1 cpu currently fitted. I would like to add a second Pentium 133Mhz cpu to the server.
Can I use any P133 cpu or does it have to be a certain type ?
Are there any dipswitches that I have to set and where are they ?
Do I have to get any other parts to allow the server to work with 2 cpu's ?
Do I have to upgrade the BIOS or similar ?
All help greatly appreciated
Michael

Re: Adding second P133 cpu to dual Processor board
couple of things...technically you could use any p133 BUT it must be the same cache size as the one you already have...second you will need to set your apic mode in your bios to full table..and not full table mapped
We are here for a good time, not a long time!
