I've got barebone (no smartstart cds, drivers, etc) proliant 3000 in the lab and trying to beef it up with one more cpu. It gives out 212-processor 1 failed message on boot up (tried to swap cpus, cpu power modules, reseat cpus). I'm new at this kind of hardware but only systems I have found dox for were p2, this one is P3 550Mhz, has eight jumpers insead of six in system configuration switch SW2 (I was looking for nvram reset switch). Configuration partions is wiped out too, I'm getiing nowhere on magic f10... Firmware upgraded with SP20622. Where I can get an image of a sys config utility diskette?
Any other suggestions ?
Thanks in advance for any info

Re: Again 3000, adding CPU
Thanks I wouldn't post it here if I have found what I need on the web. Could you be more specific?

SolutionThat is the SCU which will create 2 floppy disks which you can boot on. If you already have an OS installed then DO NOT install this to the hard drive since it will take the first 40 megs or so of the hard drive and wipe out your existing partition
Once your in the SCU try marking CPU1 as repaired

Re: Again 3000, adding CPU
Looks like array has a drive configured with acu v 2.3 and don't want to cooperate with my acu 1.20; and, how do I reset flush configuration if I need to?
Cheers

This is the application for Windows .. there is also a web based application for windows as well called ACU-XE here : http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/19658.html

Nathan
I mean if I need to re-initialize the controller and disk regardless of preserving data?
