I have a proliant 800, and I would like that at least the fan would be controlled and, if possible, health traps could be sent to the central management server.
I'm running Fedora Core 5. As far as I can see there are no health agents for any Red Hat distribution, in combination with the Proliant 800.
I tried installing hpasm for Red Hat Enterprise 4 and 2.1, although the proliant 800 is not supported in there. This didn't lower the fan speed.
Is there anything out there that I can use?
Thanks in advance.
Remon.

Re: Agents for proliant 800 - FC5
I just can't find a Linux agent for the Proliant 800.
Any ideas on that?

SolutionThe Proliant 800 is a G1 server and does not have fan speed control. The system board fan control logic was only included with the G2 and above systems, exception being the ML370 G1 I think.
This might not help but you won't be able to control the fan speed..... Sorry.
