I am trying to install a new array with a SmartArray-2DH controller. I have no other Operating System installed so I am using the ACU 1.20B which I just downloaded from this site, however it will only allow me to create logical drives no greater than 8GB even though I have 2 18.2GB drives. Is there a newer version of the ACU that can be ran from floppy/CD that will allow me to break that 8GB barrier?
It doesn't seem like the 2DH has anything onboard that will allow me to create an array.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers

Re: Array Configuration Utility 1.20B
1.20B was the last bootable version made of the ACU. Compaq wants you to use the SmartStart CD to configure your server.
You might try to update the bios for the 2-DH:

You need disk 1.

The official answer is to order a Smart Start 5.50 CD (about $25.00):
http://www.compaq.com/smartstart
Be sure to ask for Smart Start 5.50! NOT the newer versions. They will not work with your server.

Re: Array Configuration Utility 1.20B
I have been working on a site to host the monster for download if HP will not build one themselves with "just the basics".
I wont have it soon even if the official answer was "NO" from HP. Like I said in the prior thread, the answer i got from HP was that they had no "plans" for developing an ISO, but that my request was sent to the SmartStart team...
So, in answer to your question, the fastest method is to order one through HP and have the CD "overnighted" to you.

Re: Array Configuration Utility 1.20B
I took a Compaq ASE course with the company I was working for about a year ago and found a SmartStart 5.1 CD which they gave me.
Worked like a charm.
Thanks again!!
Cheers
