Assisted Install of NT 4 without System Erase?
Due to an NT 4 hardware profile corruption, I ma unable to boot into NT 4.0. Does anyone know how to perform a Compaq assisted install without performing a system erase first as I do not want to blitz 120Gb of data if I can help it. Manual install from NT 4 CD and providing Array 5300 driver fails to find any attached disks.

Re: Assisted Install of NT 4 without System Erase?
assisted will not work..what you need to do is install off of the NT cd...to get past the scsi controller what you need to do is hit F6 then specify then other..it will prompt you for a manufacturers diskette..you create this disette by downloading sp14437.exe and extractiing it to your hard drive..one of the files it extracts is qrst5.exe..run this and it will create 4 disks..the disk you need is disk2

Re: Assisted Install of NT 4 without System Erase?
I followed your instructions to the "t" several times and loaded multiple drivers. It still doesn't find any hard disks in the system. I'm running a DL360 G1 with the integrated SmartArray controller. Any idea what I am doing wrong?
