Assisted installation with SmartStart 5.5 on Proliant 800

I ordered SmartSmart 5.5 for my Proliant 800 and I try to install w2k server with the assisted installation. I booted once with the cd and I run the System Erase utility to start over. When I reboot, the system doesn't boot on the CD, it boots ony on floppy. So I boot with the System Configuration Utility 2.58A floppy and go through the hardware installation. Then I boot on the smartstart cd but I don't have to option to use the Assisted installation. What can I do to make it boots on CD after the System Erase Utility and then goes into the assisted installation?

Try clearing NVRAM on the server using switch 6 in the maintenance switch set.

You'll find the switch location on the inside cover label of the server.

Open switch 6 and power up the server with the SmartStart CD in the drive.

If a configuration lock was the problem, you'll be able to boot to the SmartStart splash screen and eventually get an error that the switch is open.

Power down the machine, close the switch, boot off SmartStart and run a system erase.

The next time around you'll be able to start an assisted install path.
