Audio on a Proliant DL380 G4

Can anybody offer a solution for enabling sound on a Proliant DL380 G4.
I understand PCI cards are not compatible in PCIE slots.
Looking for Windows 2003 drivers, or 2008 if they are available.

hi,

i think if you have a functional sound card inside a server them you could use it, without them i think its not possible.

Thats the thing......There is not a functional sound card inside the server, and never will be because of the lack of standard PCI slots to even fit one. Unless you can advise me of a PCIE Sound card.

I'm looking at a USB sound card to buy with windows 2003 or 2008 drivers.

Many thanks for your reply though.....!

The only sound I have on my proliants is the sound of the fans ... however, an internet search is showing several pcie sound cards.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Very good Torsten,,,,I wish the sound of the fans was my only sound requirement. But unfortunelty I have a Cisco Softphone implemention to do, via Citrix for external users

And my apologies, I meant PCI-X (100 or 133).
