BL 460c G8 battery and smart storage (cache)
Hi
What is cache and battery for?
Is cache essiential for server to work?
As I understand data is cached on the smart storage before it is storaged on disk.
But is it needed?
The battery I assume is only to avoid data loss from cache if server goes down.
Am I right in all this?

Re: BL 460c G8 battery and smart storage (cache)
The cache module is bringing more performance in disk access.
The battery is needed for enabling write cache because the battery prevents data loss in case of a power fail.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
