BL20P G2 with Windows 2003
I have 24 BL20P G2 Servers that I am trying to load with Windows 2003 Standard Server. During boot up the blade initializes the Smart Array 5i Controller. When Windows 2003 starts to load I get the following error regardless of using the deault Array driver or pressing F6 and using a different driver..... STOP: 0x0000007B (oxF789E63C, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000). Does anyone know the fix for this? Please Help!

Re: BL20P G2 with Windows 2003
Can you give us any more information about the setup?
Are you using RDP? Which version?
Can you check to make sure you have a logical drive created? In the iLO remote console, get into the quick array configurator and check your disks.

Re: BL20P G2 with Windows 2003
The Array firmware is 2.58. There are two drives configured into a RAID 1 configuration. I get through the F6 portion of the 2003 install and select the latest drivers for the Array 5i. Then just as it starts to do Windows Setup it blue screens with the previous error. These are brand new machines and have never had a OS on them.

Re: BL20P G2 with Windows 2003
Alternatively, the newest update to the iLO firmware (1.64) contains a guided installation found under the p-Class tab in the iLO UI. Connect a notebook to the front panel crash port and access the iLO web page and you're all set.

look here:

resolution
To install any edition of Microsoft Windows Server 2003 on a ProLiant BL20p G2, ProLiant BL20p G3 or ProLiant BL30p Server Blade, download the "USB CD Boot Assistant Version 1.1". The USB CD Boot Assistant driver prevents the STOP 0x7B error from occurring.
The USB CD Boot Assistant Version 1.1 is available as SoftPaq SP29007, at the following URL:
http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/22120.html
Note: USB CD Boot Assistant Version 1.1 also supports Microsoft Preinstallation Environment 2004.
A permanent resolution will be included in Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1) and Microsoft Windows Preinstallation Environment (WinPE) 2005.

Download the SoftPaq, create the disk and load the USB Driver with F6 during setup. You don't need special drivers for the SA 5i during setup. Install the latest psp when the windows setup is finished.
This works for me with a bunch of BL20p G2 blades.
Good Luck!

Kai-Uwe
