Backplane vs Controller

I have replaced a harddrive in the raid 5 configuration within a proliant 3000 server. However, after the Array Confirguration Utility states that the drive has undergone the rebuild process. Insight Manager and the Array Configuration states that the new drive is ready for rebuild. Since this machine is out of warranty we do not know whether we should replace the backplane or the controller. Other drives are unaffected.

Hello,
Please update the system bios and update the firmware of the controller. Most likely that should resolve the issue. Also please update the firmware of the HDDs as well.
