Backup Raid 0 Drives on ProLiant DL160 G6 with B110i
Hello,
I have a ProLiant DL160 G6 with B110i software RAID controller.
It runs one logical RAID 0 drive consisting of two physical SATA disks.
One of the disks now shows that it will fail shortly - so I have to change the hdd.
I already built in the spare disk, but now I have to copy the data.
My idea is to make a image backup of the RAID 0 drive, shut down the system,
replace the drive and restore the drive. But I do not find any backup software
that can handle a B110i RAID 0 system. I only found some discussion on Acronis,
but this seems to be complicated (via Windows PE boot CD).
So, my questions are:
1. Is the general idea via backup OK (or would it be possible to upgrade to a P400 controller) ?
2. Is there any backup software that can handle a B110i RAID 0 system ?!
Thanks for any help in advance,
kind regards,
Oliver
