Base System Device, HP ProLiant 360 G3 Pentium III, Windows 2000
I know I am not the first to try to fixed this problem.
After a new installation of Windows 2000 Server, the Base System Device is not found.
I search in the internet (google, forums) to any solutions.
And find two answers, it is the USB-Device or it is the ILO-Board.
For the USB Driver, I canтАЩt found any Driver on the HP download web-side.
For the rilo I found the Information use the тАЬFirmware Online ROM Flash Component for Windows - HP Remote Insight Lights-Out Edition IIтАЭ and тАЬHP ProLiant Remote Insight Lights-Out II Board Driver for Windows 2000-Windows Server 2003тАЭ on the driver download side for the model HP ProLiant 360 G3, but attention, this board is not installed on the system, so told me the Installsoftware! So I used the тАЬFirmware Online ROM Flash Component for Windows - HP Integrated Lights-OutтАЭ and тАЬHP ProLiant Integrated Lights-Out Management Interface Driver for Windows 2000-2003тАЭ to update the ILO succeed.
But the тАЬBase System DeviceтАЭ-Problem is not fixed.
I used the Maintenance-CD 7.3 to update the Firmware I used the SmatStart-CD 7.3 to update the driver or software but the problem is NOT fixed.
To fixed the problem I used two HP machines and it is every time the same problem.
Have any one a good idea?

Re: Base System Device, HP ProLiant 360 G3 Pentium III, Windows 2000
1. The DL360G3 has an iLo port and Windows is seeing this as a base system device. To fix, install the Compaq iLO Advanced System Management Controller Driver. This specific driver is here:
http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/22825.html?jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN
2. It is the Intel chipset (ont he system board) and the inf update (from Intel) is here:
http://mysearch.intel.com/corporate/default.aspx?culture=en-US&q=INFINST_AUTOL.EXE&searchsubmit.x=19&searchsubmit.y=6
Note: If you have any problems with the above URL, go to www.intel.com and search by the file = INFINST_AUTOL.EXE
Hope this fixes the issue.
