Re: Base configuration

is this Jeff the driver of the big foot truck? anyway I also am using a prosignia as with an enhanced mad am486x4 model 14 stepping 4 I/math support processor and looking to upgrade. my unit has a 1gig ad and added ram to 64mg. I was told this processor simulates speed of 133mhz? mine has a ad om, 56k modem, 32bit video card, scsi port, lan port, nic (fiber optic) runs win 98 v4.1 and dos 7.1. it was a server in an office at one time. any info you have in updating this machine would be useful. i believe it would require a new mother board and power supply. if this is actually "big foot" sorry but i'm a chevy guy with a 74 454 laguna s3! john.

Re: Base configuration

See this web page for information on the Prosignia VS.
http://www5.compaq.com/products/servers/prosigniavs/index.html

See the QRG for memory and part number information.

The system is using an Intel 486 processor. AMD did make a 486x4 processor that would replace the Intel chip with a 486 120 MHz or 133 MHz processor. Compaq Engineering has not tested the AMD processors in the Prosignia VS model, so we have no compatibility information available.
