Battery backed vs flash backed

Hi,

I've noticed that current Smartarray P410i options now offer the 512MB cache with either the battery backed of flash backed.

I'm not totally sure of the difference - pros/cons?

Re: Battery backed vs flash backed

Battery Backed Write Cache, is the old style.

Flash Backed Write Cache is the new style.

BBWC:
The power the Write cache in case of powerloss to the server, so that unwritten data, is saved.
It can only hold the data for a limited time.

FBWC:
In case of power loss, the unwritten data in cache is copied to a sdcard (or similar), wich can hold the data fo a long time.
