Best disk performance

When setting up a Proliant server with a single SA5i or SA6i disk controller and only two disks (configured in a RAID 1), what gives me the best disk read/write performance? Both the disks on the same SCSI channel or splitting them on the two channels?

Re: Best disk performance

I'd be surprised if you saw much of a difference. 2 drives, even at 15,000 RPM and high head/data rates wouldn't come close to the SA5i's Ultra3 SCSI speed. However, you might see some difference because of faster processing on the SA6i. In both cases, however, battery-backed write cache is an option and would have the biggest performance boost.
