Biggest SCSI HDD for PL1600R

Hi

What is the biggest HDD I can put into a standard PL1600R

Depends on the drive cage....
If you have one of the newer Universal drive cages then you could conceivably use 5 X 145Gb hdds, although i doubt if you would get the U320 SCSI speeds these disks can run at.

I have a 1600 currently running with 5X72Gb UNI HDDs and have no problems with it.

If you have one of the older drive cages, then 36Gb HDD would prabably be as far as you can go.

Doesn't this depend more on the smart array controler type and version? We had a problem with a Smart Array that had an old ROM, it would give out weird errors on drives larger than 9.1GB, after we updated we had no problem with 18.2 and 36GBs.
