I put one complete HP blade in Production.
How can I assign a name and IP address to enclosure itself.
I have already two Management IP for the Two GBe2 Switches like this
Blade1-Swa -192.168.172.10
Blade1-Swb - 192.168.172.10
Now my Manager wants to assign name to the whole Enclosure itself icnluding IP address like Blade1- 192.168.172.9 but where to assign thanks!

Re: Blade 20p G3 - Naming the entire enclosure
the management links are only for management of the enclosures and power enclosures. Please do not connect the connector for the upper enclosure to you network. Right side from the management connector is a ethernet port. This is for iLO. Please connect this port to your network. Through this port you can connect the iLO of each blade. The blades will request an ip-adress over DHCP. You can also connect to you blades if you're using the local I/O cable. There are two usb ports, an vga port, a serial port and a network port at this cable. Connect a PC to this network port at the local I/O cable and asign the PC the ip-adress 192.168.1.2 with the subnet mask 255.255.255.0. Now you can connect the iLO of the blade over the ip-adress 192.168.1.1. You can attatch the local I/O cable at the port, that is at the front side of the blade server.
Regards,
Patrick

Re: Blade 20p G3 - Naming the entire enclosure
so basically the one I need is the ILO port to connect to my Production Network so I can assign name enclosure and IP address respectively.
I dont understand about connect each blade using ILO I never used it.
What we did is use one of the uplink port to a DHCP.. it pickup bootp then configure all the rest of Blade OS using RDP.
