Blade NIC numbering for Enhanced Enclosure
Hi,
I have several BL Enhanced Enclosures. I have Patch Panel 2's installed. I have a mixture of new BL40p's and BL20P G3's.
I have a few questions.
1. From the rear, looking at the patch panel, how are the NIC ports numbered?
2. As the ILO is routed to the management ILO port, does the port previously reserved for ILO become general LAN traffic?
3. With the BL40's how are the ports numbered. I have read *all* the doco and it all seems to pre-date the enhnanced enclosure. I'd be extremely grateful for any input.
I believed (and thought so until today) that the port number went (from l --> r) 4,3,1,2 and this seemed to tie up and make sense.
I need to know this information as we have multiple networks and I need to ensure we are patched correctly.
Regards,
Clifford

Re: Blade NIC numbering for Enhanced Enclosure
Hi,
I have worked this out. This is for a combination of BL p class enclosure with the Enhanced Backplane and BL40p's and BL20G3's.
I have confirmed these NIC port to physical port assignments manually.
The interconnect is PP2.
Thanks for all your help,
Clifford
