Blue Screen, Stop x50 loading atapi.sys

We have two ML570's that are occasionally giving a STOP 50 blue screen during the driver load phase of Windows NT 4.0 SP6a. If you pull the cable off the drive or disable the driver, the problem disappears. The system board and CD-ROM drive have been replaced. The atapi.sys driver is version 4.0.1381.279
The System BIOS has been flashed to the latest level.
