Boot Problems
I am experiencing boot problems with a Proliant 1600R. The server has been sitting their quite happily running Citrix Win Frame. When I went to log-on the server had reset itself and was displaying a black screen.
I cycled the power and re-booted, again everything worked fine for a couple of days then the same problem occurred. I check the forum and found a similar problem. I followed the response given (cleared the NV-RAM) and the server worked for a week before the same problem occurred again.
Having just cleared the NV-RAM again the server will not boot(screen flashes, CD-ROM Spins, HDD LED flash).
Anyone?

Re: Boot Problems
This sounds like either the memory, processor, or processor Power Module need to be removed and reseated. Over a period of time these components heat and cool with server load and a small amound of oxide can build on the contacts. Removing and reseating can fix this issue.
