when i add a IDE drive on first IDE channel (CD-ROM cable) ?
The IDE drive must be ???? SLAVE / MASTER ???
Format : FAT32 / NTFS ???
Help me to use my ML330

The IDE channel for CDROM is meant for CDROM only. You wont be able to use the IDE hard drive on that channel unfortunately. Once your server has been configured with the SCSI hard drive you can always use a third party IDE controller to install an IDE hard drive in the system.

If i put a IDE controler into and i choice in BIOS the SCSI controler in 1st controler, the ML330 boot on the SCSI drive ?
I would like make a storage server with IDE
drive :
1 HD SCSI with OS (8Go)
2 HD IDE without OS (30Go X 2)
1 CD-ROM IDE
1 CR-RW Writer IDE
It-s is possible ?

Thanks for your response, but what IDE controler I must put into the proliant ?
Do you have a reference for this product ?
Is it a PCI card ?
I can't use the seconf IDE controler ?

I have used PCI IDE controller by Maxtor and by Promise. Both of those worked flawlessly. I am not sure about the part nos. You can surely find those on the respective parts. If you come across any difficulties finding those please let me know I shall locate them for you.
