Boot from cd

My server won't boot from a bootable cd. It will boot from the smartstart. I have tried the bootable cd in other pc and it boots fine but won't in the 5000. I upgraded the bios with the latest rompaq from your website but still won't boot. I changed controller order to embedded 1st and smart 2nd but still won't boot it.
What is required to boot from a bootable CD created with Nero?

Thanks,

Larry

Re: Boot from cd

Most older systems don't support "El Torito" (the Microsoft IDE CD boot standard) particularly older SCSI based systems. The Smartstart CD predates El Torito and usually works on our older systems because of that...

The only thing to try is - update the system firmware. If this does not resolve the issue, there is not much else to do about it.

Re: Boot from cd

I have tried the Microsoft NT4 server CD in a Proliant 5000 and it boots fine.
